Antoinette Denise Johnson...aka Angelwowings
Poet
Angel, known on poetry sites as angelwowings, is originally from Chicago, Illinois and now resides in Northern California. She’s the mother of two wonderful sons, Michael 24, and Kelvin 14, and the grandmother of Khalil 4, and Kamiyah 1.
She’s been writing since she was a small child. She has a love for reading poetry and was first inspired by Langston Hughes and Maya Angelou. Angel wrote poems in her diary and kept them as her "little secrets". Only sharing an occasional poem for Mother’s Day, or other holidays.
Her lack of confidence and self esteem lead her to believe that her mother and others telling her that she was talented, was just them being kind. She always felt awkward, and misunderstood.
It was only when she joined a poetry site a few years ago and began sharing poetry with the world ,did she begin to believe in herself. The awkwardness subsided when she joined Soulasylumpoetry, and shared with others with the same passion for poetry.
Angel’s poetry is cathartic to write, and she considers it a huge blessing when readers receive a message from her words.
She has poetry published in an anthology “Twilight Musings” by the International Library of Poetry, under the name Antoinette Denise Johnson.
