Carlos Budd Ford:
From Los Angeles, California by way of Kansas City, Missouri, Carlos Budd Ford spent many years surrounded by extraordinary talent and creative minds. After paying his dues playing clubs throughout the Midwest with band mates that would include future members of the group "Lowkey? (who'd eventually be signed to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis as artist and producers under their "Perspective/A&M" label-They'd also be responsible for discovering the group NEXT) and one of the sons of legendary soul singer Johnny Taylor, Carlos, along with two of his friends, Livio Harris and Damon Thomas, formed a group called "Foursure" and set out for fame and fortune in L.A. Arriving in September of '89, by the end of November of that same year, and only two months later, they had already been offered a recording contract with the prestigious "Uptown/MCA" label.

Joining a roster that would include Heavy D and the Boyz, Teddy Riley and Guy, Al B Sure, Jeff Redd, Jodeci, a 19 year old unknown artist named Mary J Blige, as well as another 19 year old unknown but up and coming intern named Sean "Puffy" Combs, headed by visionary and master mind Andre Harrell, they would quickly be able to gain invaluable knowledge, experience, and insight that could last them a lifetime in the industry. After numerous delayed release dates the group grew impatient and asked for their release in order to pursue other avenues. Once free, they then landed on "Ruffhouse/Columbia" records, the home of Cypress Hill, Krisskross (produced by a very young Jermaine Dupri), and The Fugees featuring Lauren Hill. In 1992 they released an album entitled "We Can Swing It" to moderate success and fanfare. By the end of '95 their contract was up and it was time for them to figure out what they wanted to do next. Livio and Damon immediately delved back into the entertainment world (Livio would go on to manage Adina Howard, Jon B, Lil J-Devon on So So Raven, Event, and many more. Damon in time would become one half of the hottest producing team in the business "The Underdogs", working with everyone from Whitney Houston to Justin Timberlake.) but Carlos wasn't sure he still wanted that life style.

Through much prompting from family and friends, Carlos felt it was time and stepped from the shadows and back onto the scene. Being constantly surrounded by such incredible talent and hitmakers can't help but rub off. Not wasting time and not one to forget all that he had learned, a past that was as much enlightening as it was influential, Carlos used constant memories to inspire him while writing to craft an eclectic array of R&B, Soul, and Jazz.
