Daneen Dustin
Poet, Novelist

 Daneen started writing at a young age. Her mom would have Daneen memorize the poetry of Robert Louis Stevenson, and than recite it back to her.  After a while, Daneen started writing her own poetry and reciting that back to her.  Daneen states that "In the 4th grade, I entered a national poetry contest put on by the school district, entitled: 'Why I Love the American Flag', and won the actual flag that flew over the White House. (It was during the Vietnam war)."
 
At the age of 10, Daneen's parents bought her a guitar and her poetry expanded to writing songs.

"I left home at an early age, which I would have to say, showed me the importance of 'family' maybe a little more than if I had not left early. But of course, I set out on the journey of life, with the cocky attitude that I could do it all, and I could do it by myself... Oh how wrong I was...  However, my mom's abundant wisdom and patience was the 'still small voice' leading me home again. *smile*

 Daneen's Journey in life has been one with many bumps, Through Divorce and the search to find 2 of her 3 children taken from her, and succeeding I might add, "by the Grace of God she says", several major surgeries, and constant pain, Daneen has never given up on life, or on her writing and music. An inspiring Woman and talented writer, and a person who has seen much through her eyes.

  "With all that has happened, I have found that God is so awesomely real. *smile*  I am never alone, and, though sometimes it feels like I cannot take one more step...God will take that step for me. *smile*  Secret of the Covenant has a message of hope, of courage and faith and strength. The most important message of all though...is Love."
