When asked to describe the sound of Plaguesayer, there are no words that can capture the true nature of it. The niche that Plaguesayer has carved for themselves into the Indianapolis metal scene is one that bridges the gaps between fundamental thrash and death metal. Few metal bands parallel in terms of live energy and the ability to work as such a tight unit both on and off the stage when compared to the "big boys" within the scene.
As a 5-piece, the band plays solid and complicated guitar and bass riffs combined with amazing technical drumming that both draw a degree of influence from more well-known metal bands such as Pantera, Metallica, Slayer, Behemoth, Lamb of God, 1349, and Dimmu Borgir. Influence is also drawn from other sources such as classical compositions, the hardships of life, inner conflict, the concept of deceit, and of course…
the good old rock ‘n’ roll classics. Throw a very vocally-diverse and liberal frontman into the mix and you will get the band as it is today; a mesh of young mother-fuckers with the old-school mentality to bring back to the forefront the music that starts circle pits bigger than the Indy 500. Wooooooo NASCAR.

Plaguesayer was founded in early 2006 by members Ross Wilhelm, Billy Boswell, Tyler Hoban, and Zack Marsh, who coincidentally were all born within the same week of July 1986. The core of the band remained the same as a 5th member (Austin Haddix / guitar) was added in early 2007, but dropped by 2008 due to various issues. He has since been replaced by long time friend and guitar/bass-guitar fill-in David Knopp. The four original members recorded a 3 song demo which quickly caught the ear of many other local metal and hardcore bands who offered dozens of shows for the band to play. Virtually not even having to book a show themselves, Plaguesayer performed at nearly 50 concerts (big and small) in late 2006 and all 2007 as both a four-piece and as a five-piece to audiences of various sub-genres of heavy music. Performing so often has given the band a massive fan-base in the Midwest which in hopes will spread to both coasts. Currently the band has one hell of a reputation in Indianapolis, one full length CD, various forms of merchandise, and a handful of small endorsements along with one from Halo Guitars.

Some of Plaguesayer’s best highlights include:
- Sharing the stage with Thine Eyes Bleed, Sons of Azrael, and Year of Desolation on their independent full-length CD release show November 18th 2007.
- Performing during a prime slot on mainstage Indianapolis Metalfest I (2007) with Obituary, Daath, Alabama Thunderpussy, and Full Blown Chaos September 22nd 2007.
- Performing during a prime slot on the upcoming Indianapolis Metalfest II (2008) with headliners such as: Carnal Forge, Goatwhore, and Dew-Scented… to be hosted by Mistress Juliya on September 26th and 27th 2008.
- Playing the All Freak’s Ball in Toledo, Ohio with Dope, Bobaflex, and The Autumn Offering on Halloween 2007.
- Performing in the Midwest with various other notable acts such as MushroomHead, The Handshake Murders, Screaming Mechanical Brain, Psyclon Nine, Ligiea, Tub Ring, Beneath The Sky, Hemlock, and Iscariot from late 2006 to early 2008.
