How does one come up with a character like Stellar? Well for me, it is definitely an interesting story! It begins, and ends, with my children. I wanted to write a book especially for them. My oldest son has always been fascinated with space - the sun, moon, planets and stars. My youngest seems to be just as intrigued by the ocean. Fish, seashells, and all the different kinds of plant life there is.

So how could I write something that both of them might enjoy? The answer came to me out of the blue one day, on my way home from an end of the year celebration at my children’s school. My youngest had written a story about Star Wars, that was ’published’ through his school for the end of the year Writing Celebration. As I was driving, I thought of a dedication for my children that went along the star theme, which I have used for this book. And then, while waiting at a stop light, I started flipping though the radio channels, looking for something to listen to, when I came across an oldie by Bing Crosby, "Catch a Falling Star". I started wondering what would happen if a star fell to Earth before it’s time, and Stellar the Fallen Star was born.

Stellar the Fallen Star has been an amazing, intriguing journey for me. I can’t say I wrote this book, it’s more that I joined Stellar on his fantastic adventure, and recorded it for children of all ages. I hope you enjoy your journey with Stellar, and I hope you get as much out of reading this book, as I got out of in writing it.
